Most boat shows take place on the water, which is natural. Boot Düsseldorf is a huge exception in every sense: the show takes place on land, and it is vast indeed
Boot Düsseldorf is the largest pavilion boat show, but it is quite affordable: over 200,000 people keen on water sports and recreation from dozens of different countries visit it annually. Due to the fact that really large super and megayachts can’t fit into pavilions, the focus is on small and midsize boats. However, the most luxurious pavilion number 6 is home to quite large yachts of up to 100 ft (33 m) long and even more.
In 2025 boot Düsseldorf’s organisers promise there will be over a thousand boats: motor and sailing, various in size and purpose, as well as lots of other exhibits from equipment and water toys to different services for yachtsmen and travellers. How to find your way around this huge “water world”?
How is boot Düsseldorf organised?
Boot Düsseldorf consists of 16 huge pavilions with a total area of 220,000 sq.m: if you just walk around all of them, it will be a long walk of many kilometres. So it is a good idea to think what you are interested in most and plan your visit in advance. Each of the pavilions is dedicated (if possible) to a particular “theme”, but sometimes the exhibits that you find interesting can be found in two or three different pavilions. For example, engine manufacturers may exhibit next to motor boats, as well as in the equipment pavilions. One should also remember that the numbering of the pavilions is a little confusing: out of 16 pavilions none has number 2 or 8, while there is 7A and 17. So, what is where?
Hall 1 – main Entrance South to the exhibition.
Hall 3 – motor boats and small cruisers under 10 m. This pavilion is aimed mainly at the first-timers choosing their first boat. Next to the boats there are stands of such popular manufacturers as Honda, Kawasaki, Mercury, Suzuki, Tohatsu, Yamaha.
Hall 4 – midsize motor boats and cruisers. All Scandinavian shipyards’ stands can be found here, too.
Hall 5 – superboats: performance models, tenders and chase boats, as well as water toys.
Hall 6 – the most impressive and popular pavilion featuring large yachts by the world’s most famous shipyards: Sanlorenzo, Sunseeker, Azimut, Pershing, Riva, Ferretti, Princess, etc.
Hall 7 – maritime art and photography gallery.
Hall 7а – stands of the shipyards that build superyachts; yacht design and naval architecture studios; manufacturers of materials and goods for yacht interiors.
Hall 9 – RIBs, tenders, jet skis, inflatable boats, water toys.
Hall 10 – equipment and accessories for yachts and boats, inboard and outboard Torqeedo, Volvo Penta and Yanmar engines.
Hall 11 – equipment for yachts and boats, clothes and accessories for yachting and water sports.
Hall 12 – everything related to diving.
Hall 13 – water tourism, holidays and travels: charter, cruises, house boats, floating homes, tour operators, hotels and resorts, as well as everything that has to do with rowing: canoeing, kayaking, paddle boarding, etc.
Hall 14 – marinas and charter companies.
Hall 15 – cruising and sport sailing yachts and catamarans, sailing schools and associations.
Hall 16 – large sailing yachts.
Hall 17 – equipment and accessories for windsurfing, kiting, wakeboarding and other water sports. There is also a pool here, where something is going on almost all the time: masterclasses by professional sportsmen, coaching, competitions and programs for children.
