Every year the Monaco Yacht Show gathers the cream of the yachting world
The largest and most expensive superyachts and everything related to this segment of the yachting market are exhibited at the Monaco show. This time, on 25-28 September 2024, Port Hercule will become home to about 120 superyachts. The largest of them is the 122-metre Kismet, which is the latest creation of German Lürssen shipyard.
However, not all the yachts are new. Most of the Monaco Yacht Show exposition is made up of charter and pre-owned superyachts that are available for sale or offered for charter. In the article below we will have a look at the world premieres only – the superyachts that were delivered in 2024 and debuted at this show.
Kismet
Length: 122 m
Shipyard: Lürssen (Germany)
This is the third Lürssen yacht named Kismet, built for the American businessman of Pakistani origin, Shakhid Khan. On leaving the yard in May last year, Kismet set off on her first journey around Scotland. The Monaco Yacht Show will be the first opportunity for the public to see the superyacht.
What is particularly intriguing about her, is the interior by Reymond Langton Design, which the world media has already described as “Louis XIV meeting Interstellar”.
JAS
Length: 66.9 m
Shipyard: Admiral Yachts (Italy)
JAS’s launch was announced early in September, which was almost the last minute before the Monaco Yacht Show, where her world debut was scheduled to take place. For now, not much is known about her. Her masculine exterior was designed by The Italian Sea Group in-house team, as Admiral Yachts is part of it. Her modern interior is owed to British designer Mark Berryman.
Diamond Binta
Length: 58 m
Shipyard: Tankoa (Italy)
Built by the Italian boutique yard, Tankoa, this yacht for long voyages boasts numerous standout features. One of them is her panoramic corridor on the lower deck, which connects the cabins directly to the beach area, passing through a viewable engine room.
Special One
Length: 52 m
Shipyard: Royal Huisman (Holland)
Arguably the most unusual project of 2024 is dubbed “sportfisher on steroids”. Apart from the length of 52 metres, the yacht christened Special One does look like a typical American sportfisher: high bulwarks, a long flaring bow, a low uncluttered aft cockpit and a high tower allowing one to watch the fishing process. The six decks ensure both the participants and the viewers do not only enjoy the trophy fish, but have a bunch of impressions and a highest level of comfort.
Almaх
Length: 49.9 m
Shipyard: Sanlorenzo (Italy)
One of the most intriguing premieres at the Monaco Yacht Show 2024 is the first Sanlorenzo 50M Steel yacht featuring a methanol fuel cell system. In July she was delivered to her owner, Massimo Perotti, Chairman and CEO of Sanlorenzo Group. He decided to test the new technology himself before offering it to the yard’s clients. Thanks to the new technology, the engine compartment can now be concealed below deck, freeing a huge space of 150 sq.m aft for a beach club with a pool and fold-down bulwarks.
Asani
Length: 49.9 m
Shipyard: Benetti (Italy)
The latest unit in the extremely popular Benetti B.Now 50M series is an Oasis Deck version with a vast open aft deck. Her difference from other B.Now 50M hulls (and 17 of them have already hit water or are currently in build) is a slightly larger main deck volume.
Eternal Spark
Length: 49.9 m
Shipyard: Bilgin Yachts (Turkey)
The yacht with a hull of steel and a superstructure of aluminium stands out for a classical, but sporty appearance, an unusual two-colour hull, expansive glazing and numerous outdoor areas. As the vessel was created for the charter market, the focus was on entertainment. There are five bars and seven social areas, scattered across all four decks of the yacht, capable of hosting up to 100 guests simultaneously. At the same time the Eternal Spark stands out for her elaborate interiors by Italian Hot Lab studio.
Project SAN
Length: 45 m
Shipyard: Alia Yachts (Turkey)
This all-aluminium custom yacht currently known as Project SAN was designed by Sinot Yacht Architecture & Design. Her non-standard design with a massive hull and a compact superstructure is an answer to the owner’s request for an unusual, but highly functional yacht, where maximum attention is paid to open deck space. The only thing known about the interior for now is that it features a minimalist style.
Extra Time
Length: 44.27 m
Shipyard: Conrad Yachts (Poland)
This is the second C144S unit, while the first one named Ace was delivered in 2022 and became the largest yacht entirely built in Poland. The exterior of the series is owed to British Reymond Langton Design studio, while naval architecture is by Dutch Diana Yacht Design. The interior by M2 Atelier features a funny detail: there is a geometric King Kong sculpture in the main saloon.
Seawolf X
Length: 42.8 m
Shipyard: Rossinavi (Italy)
Italian Rossinavi shipyard announced that it will unveil its “most innovative project” to date at the Monaco Yacht Show 2024. Seawolf X is a hybrid catamaran designed by Fulvio de Simoni, and it is the first multihull by Rossinavi. The key standout feature of this yacht is a choice of “performance scenarios”. The catamaran can cruise in a full-electric mode on short trips. On longer trips, electricity accounts for 90% of energy, while diesel engines provide 10%. On transatlantic trips, the catamarans cruises in the electric mode for 80% of the time. When she is not used, a “hibernation mode” is activated. The yacht can recharge from shore power in just five hours.
