Cantiere delle Marche Darwin 86
About Cantiere delle Marche Darwin 86
The Darwin 86 is the most compact expedition yacht by Italian Cantiere delle Marche
However, this entry-level yacht has all the qualities of much larger explorers: excellent seaworthiness, an impressive range, highly reliable engineering systems.
The first Darwin 186, Vita di Mare, was launched in 2011. By 2024, seven units have already been built. The length of the yacht is 26.07 m, the beam is 7.43 m, and the draft is 2.42 m. The exterior and naval architecture were developed by Italian Hydro Tec studio. Each hull in Darwin 86 series features custom interior.
The displacement hull is made of steel, the superstructure is of aluminium. The yacht has three decks and a flybridge equipped with an upper helm station, a bar, lounging and dining areas.
The upper deck is home to a wheel house, a lounge and an open aft terrace with a dining area. The open deck also offers enough space to accommodate a tender, a jet ski and a crane.
The main deck houses a main saloon with a dining area, while its forward part houses crew cabins and a crew mess. The lower deck is home to the owner's and guests' cabins. The master cabin is located amidships, the VIP cabin is forward, and there are two more twin cabins between them.
With twin 400-500 hp diesel engines, the Darwin 86 has a top speed of up to 12 knots. The fuel capacity is 38400 litres, which provides a range of about 4000 nautical miles at a cruising speed of 10 knots.
