By naming the future yacht SHE (which stands for Sanlorenzo Heritage), the designers highlight the fact that it is their tribute to the “elegance and tradition of Italian yachtmaking”
The SHE’s exterior, with her clean lines and well-balanced proportions, follows the chosen style meticulously, and the vessel’s profile with its unusual flybridge shape (by today’s standards) and abundance of wooden finishes seem to have come right from the 1960s.
However, despite the “old-fashioned” exterior, the yacht’s construction is modern and eco-friendly. The hull will feature bio-based resins executed via sandwich lamination, which will decrease the weight and carbon footprint. The deck finishes will be of synthetic material imitating natural teak, which boasts “near-zero maintenance” and heats less in the sun.
In addition, the SHE will be the first vessel in Sanlorenzo fleet to feature a hybrid propulsion system, Volvo Penta IPS, which allows for using diesel as well as electric power or their combination.
With twin 1000 hp IPS30 engines, the yacht is expected to have a cruising speed of 20 knots. In a full-electric mode she will cruise silently at a speed of nine knots. In hybrid mode, the electric energy will unload the main engines and reduce fuel consumption. By the way, the 3.9-metre carbon tender that comes as standard, features electric propulsion.
The interior layout features two decks with a mezzanine, which is home to a dining area. The main deck houses a helm station, a saloon and a bar, while on the lower deck there is a full-beam master suite, a guest VIP cabin and crew quarters for three.
Lissoni & Partners opted for “Milenese lounge” interior aesthetics, featuring mahogany finishes, a warm colour palette and designer décor. The custom-made furniture and visual accents highlight the “elegance of the mid-century Italian design”.
“SHE is a gentle yacht. The yacht reuses traditional elements and evokes the grace of the 1960s but leaps forward into 2030. It’s a modern yacht with many innovations, simply expressed through a softened aesthetic language," said interior designer and Sanlorenzo art director Piero Lissoni.
The Italian shipyard unveiled SHE as an “exclusive production offering” and is ready to start construction as soon as she is sold.
