The launch of the AB 95S took place at the AB Yachts facilities in Viareggio a year and a half after the model was announced
The beginning of the AB95 production was covered by ilodka.com back in November 2024, when we also wrote that the model was available in two different versions: Comfort and Sport.
The first AB 95 with a sunpad on top of the wheelhouse embodying all the benefits of the larger AB110, was built last summer and a made quite a splash at the Cannes Yachting Festival 2025 in September. Now, the sport version of the model has hit the water.
The project was originally developed by Marco Casamonti, head of Archea Associati and artistic director of the Next Yacht Group, which owns the AB Yachts brand. The vessel’s "high-tech" helm station was developed in collaboration with Italian Fincantieri.
The AB95S stands out for a more aggressive silhouette, aerodynamic profile and flowing lines, which emphasise her racing character. Both the hull and the superstructure are of composite materials with extensive use of carbon fibre to reduce the weight.
Three MAN V12X engines of 2,200 hp each can deliver a staggering top speed of up to 53 knots with excellent manoeuvrability. The draft of just 1.35 m makes this boat perfect for wild, shallow bays and marinas.
There is no chance of sunbathing on top of the AB95S, as there is a hatch instead of a sunpad, but there are three lounge areas on the main deck: a bow lounge, a cockpit with a dining table and an aft beach platform equipped with a sofa, concealing access to the garage, which can house a four-metre tender, jet skis and water toys.
With a beam of 6.8 m, the АВ95S can offer quite comfortable accommodation for eight guests and a crew of two. The use of insulated panels, leather and suede did not only make the interior cosy, but helped to reduce noise levels considerably.
The AB95S will showcase all her technical characteristics during the sea trials that are scheduled to take place quite soon. Even now the shipyard is confident that the model will be a success with the owners “seeking pure adrenaline and the unforgettable thrill of speed on the water”.
