Columbus Yachts (part of Palumbo Superyachts) has added the most compact 38-metre model to its Atlantique line of yachts under 65 metres, which already includes two Atlantique 43s (Frette and Night Fury) and one Atlantique 47 named Acqua Chiara
The exterior concept and interior design for the entire line are owed to Italian Hot Lab, while naval engineering and architecture were developed inhouse.
According to Columbus Yachts, these yachts were designed for the owners “who view their journeys at sea and in nature as a continuous discovery”. For this reason, their stylistic, architectural and functional elements are dedicated to close contact with the sea, while the exterior lines stand out for elegance with a touch of sportiness and are reminiscent of iconic Italian GT cars.
The key features of the luxurious Atlantique superyachts (comprising the 38M, 43M, 47M, 55M and 65M models) are panoramic views and well-thought-out lounge areas by the water.
The Principessa Capricciosa is not an exception. Her all-aluminium hull silhouette reminds one of the elegant sailboats of the past. The double-paned windows on the upper deck can move up and down and sideways, allowing fresh sea air to fill the interior spaces.
The recessed stern area is just 50 cm above the water, which does not only ensure easy access on board, but makes the beach club – along with the panoramic pool and fold-down terraces – a perfect lounging area.
The Atlantique 38’s internal volume is under 300 GT, but the smart layout ensures luxurious accommodation for up to 12 passengers. The owner’s suite on the main deck features two bathrooms, a generous dressing room and a private terrace, while there are also four guest cabins a level lower (with two of them featuring extra pullman beds). There are two dining areas and several indoor and outdoor lounges on the upper decks.
The stern garage on the starboard side can accommodate a 5-metre tender, a jet ski and some water toys.
Two MAN engines of 2,000 hp each ensure the Atlantique 38’s excellent performance: the provisional top cruising speed is 19 knots, while the top speed is 22 knots.
The shipyard has no doubts that the new model by Columbus Yachts will be a success, as the second Atlantique 38 unit is already in build.
