The explorer yacht will be christened when she is delivered to her owner, who is looking forward to getting an efficient, comfortable and safe vessel suitable both for family holidays and voyages around the globe
When JFA Yachts started working on this custom project in 2021, they teamed up with British Humphreys Yacht Design (HYD), which was entrusted with exterior and architecture development. The key features of the vessel were based on the owner’s desires: a fast displacement hull, a hybrid propulsion system, fin stabilisers combined with a gyro, higher capacity for carrying larger tenders and lots of water sport gear.
The choice of aluminium for a hull with a length of 50 m and a beam of 9.1 m, as well as modern glass-epoxy composite for the superstructure allowed the manufacturer to decrease the weight and get a draft of just 2 m, as well as lower the centre of gravity, which means good stability.
The shipyard does not provide many details about the propulsion system yet, except for the fact that the yacht will be fitted with a lot of solar panels, ensuring long, silent and “green” operation of all onboard systems at anchor and low speeds.
It is also known now that the efficient hull shape allows the yacht to reach a top speed of 20 knots and cover over 5,000 nautical miles at a speed of 12 knots.
The boat can accommodate a 9.25-metre tender, a RIB, a jet ski and a wide range of water toys, and there are three cranes of different types for launching them.
The Aluminium Explorer 32C offers comfortable accommodation for ten guests. Expansive glazing ensures there are great views on the upper decks, while climate control systems ensure there’s comfortable temperature and a feeling of genuine contact with the sea.
The layout is not quite conventional. The main deck is home to a galley, main saloon and dining area, where there’s also an al fresco lounge with a bar and integrated barbecue and space for sun loungers.
Below deck there are four guest cabins, while the master suite has been moved to the second deck. In addition to a bedroom, there is also a private lounge, an office area and an exterior lounge with jacuzzi. Finally, at the very top, on the third deck, there is a wheelhouse and a compact semi-enclosed lounge. The interior is owed to Milan-based m2 atelier.
JFA Yachts was planning to deliver the Aluminium Explorer in 2025, and, despite some delay, the owner will get the yacht in the coming months of 2026.
