The island of Bali has always been associated with surfing and beach holidays

However, just like in the rest of this part of the Indian Ocean, yachting is not well-developed here yet. So, it is even more interesting to find out that there will soon be a world-class marina in Bali.

PT Marina Development Indonesia (MDI) and Pelindo companies have signed a contract to build Indonesia’s first international-standard full-service marina. It will be situated in Benoa, not far from Denpasar International Airport. At present, there is a buoy mooring system for about 30 yachts under 17 metres there.

The construction of the marina is already underway. It is due to accommodate the first yachts in the second quarter of 2025, and to reach its full capacity by the middle of 2026. Tha marina is meant for 180 berths, with space for over 50 superyachts up to 90 metres long. There will also be a high-quality fuelling station and a service area with a 200-ton lift. Thanks to the comprehensive logistical support, the owner and crews will also be offered a set of luxury services, let alone restaurants, shops and entertainment.

With the appropriate infrastructure development, Indonesia does have the opportunity to become the new yachting paradise. 17000 beautiful islands, favourable weather conditions all year round, no hurricanes or typhoons, numerous diving and surfing spots – all of these make Indonesia a really attractive new destination.
