The Seadeck 6 is the first model in the series of Azimut hybrid motor yachts
The shipyard dubs her “the most sustainable yacht ever produced by Azimut”. The 17.5-metre Azimut Seadeck 6 was initially unveiled late in May 2024 at the boat show in Venice. And now we have an opportunity to have a closer look at the model.
According to the shipyard, the Seadeck 6 demonstrates the holistic approach to sustainable yachting. Firstly, the model boasts a low emissions level, reduced by 40% in one year of average use compared to traditional yachts of similar size. This result was achieved due to the extensive use of carbon, which led to lighter weight and lower fuel consumption. In addition, the innovative hull shape ensures higher efficiency at the most frequent cruising speeds.
Secondly, only eco-friendly materials have been used for the Seadeck 6 interior – either natural or recycled. For instance, cork was used instead of teak, and the carpeting is made of repurposed raw materials (R-PET). About one third of the Seadeck 6 skeleton is also made of R-PET, totaling approximately 15000 recovered plastic bottles.
The Seadeck 6 was designed to accommodate up to 6 people in three guest cabins and one crew member in a separate cabin aft.
The vessel is powered by a hybrid diesel-electric propulsion system, which is currently not so common for the yachts of this size. And the boat is not slow – at least when she is propelled by her diesel engines. With three Volvo IPS engines of 480 hp each, the Seadeck 6 can reach 33 knots.
