Santosha features a high level of cusomisation, an internal volume of 780 GT, a shallow draft and, despite the size, she is capable of reaching a top speed of 22 knots
Santosha’s exterior design is owed to Omega Architects, the interiors are by Harrison Eidsgaard, and the naval architecture – as it is clear from the name of the model – belongs to Van Oossanen Naval Architects.
ilodka.com has already written about this project, previously known as Akira. The first representative in the new all-aluminium 57-metre range was built for experienced owners and is highly cusomisable.
“We are honoured to have had the opportunity to build this exceptional yacht for such a wonderful family. Both the Heesen and owner's teams worked tirelessly to bring Santosha to life. I am confident she will set a new standard for Heesen yachts, offering unparalleled comfort and style for those who love to cruise,” said Niels Vaessen, CEO of Heesen.
Santosha is a combination of extraordinary speed, performance, and excellent seaworthiness. According to the yard, during the sea trials in the North Sea, she performed exceptionally and demonstrated her remarkable capabilities in a variety of sea conditions.
Thanks to twin MTU 16V 4000 M65L engines that comply with IMO Tier III, and a special hull construction, Santosha can deliver an impressive top speed of 22 knots, which is a great result for a yacht with a displacement of about 510 tonnes at half load.
The collaboration with renowned owner’s representative Peter Wilson of MCM was crucial for the success of the project. Wilson remarked, “We are thrilled to deliver this magnificent, fast, all-aluminium motor yacht. She combines exceptional speed and performance with hydrodynamic efficiency. At slower speeds, she offers a remarkable range, and her shallow draft makes her incredibly versatile, allowing her to excel in various conditions, making her a multipurpose vessel. The owner’s design talent and considerable experience from many other projects was brought to bear on Santosha, and her success is in no small part due to their intimate involvement throughout.”
Santosha also represents a significant milestone in Heesen’s yacht design and engineering. “The accuracy of the weight calculations was critical in achieving the Bahama draft,” said Peter van der Zanden, Head of Heesen’s Engineering Department. “This yacht exemplifies our commitment to precision engineering and design excellence.”
Santosha can accommodate 12 guests across six spacious cabins, including the owner’s suite of 63 sq.m located on the main deck. Ample exterior areas make spending time on board the yacht even more impressive and add to the pleasure of presence on the water.
Heesen Yachts reports that Santosha will make her official debut at the Palm Beach International Boat Show in March 2025.
