YYachts shipyard based in Germany announces that the 29.7-metre custom sailing yacht has finished all the sea trials successfully, got christened Volante and will soon be delivered to her owner
The Volante is actually the second Y9, built by the German manufacturer. The first one, Bella, was unveiled in 2022 and until Volante appeared it had been considered the shipyard’s flagship and one of the largest sailing yachts ever built in Germany.
The Volante is a carbon sloop that boasts the exterior from Tripp Design Naval Architects and interiors from Winch Design. The owner comes from Europe and has previously owned another yacht built by YYachts.
Inside, the focus is on practicality, modern style and elegance. Light colours of the walls and ceilings contrast with a lot of wooden surfaces, creating a pleasant atmosphere on board.
The saloon is split-level, with an upper dining area, where you can admire the sea views, and a lounge area with dark wooden furniture lower. The galley is located aft, closer to the crew quarters.
The level of comfort on board is really high, as the owner is planning to spend time with his family. There are three cabins for six guests. The owner’s suite with a dressing room, a bathroom and ample storage space is located forward. In addition to rather a large double bed, there is also a sofa and a small working space.
The cockpit features a lounge area with sofas and tables that can be protected from the sun with a canopy. The aft garage is big enough for a tender.
If necessary, the yacht is capable of taking part in regattas and can be operated by a small crew. Thanks to the extensive use of carbon and the light weight of the construction, the Volante boasts excellent performance and has thrusters for better manoeuvering in small marinas.
“This new Y9 has been ordered by a repeat customer which makes us proud as it shows that our approach is well received as the owner is not the first one ordering a second YYacht,” commented Michael Schmidt, founder of YYachts.
