The 14.7-metre Zeelander 5 is the evolution of the legendary Z44 model, which began the Zeelander story back in the 2000s. Her arrival completes the updating process of the brand’s “design language”. In addition to immaculate exterior lines, the Zeelander 5 features most exquisite interiors.
The Zeelander 5 was designed for comfortable living both indoors and outdoors, so the yacht is suitable for all kinds of water areas – from the Mediterranean to Norwegian fjords.
A deep cockpit with sofas and a high-low table provides shelter from the sun and wind if necessary. In fine weather the door and window to the saloon can be opened for smooth transition from the helm to the cockpit.
Another, more open al fresco lounge is on the foredeck. It is an ideal spot for sunbathing or just admiring the views in comfort.
The transom with its complex curves is not just the key element of the design. It can fold down to offer a spacious bathing platform, large enough for comfortable sunbeds or a table and chairs. The platform is also convenient for doing water sports, as there is a hidden hydraulic element providing steps down into the water.
Another Zeelander 5’s nice feature is a well-appointed galley, featuring an unusually shaped galley. A fridge, a basin, a wine cooler and an induction hob are installed in the curved counter that runs along the starboard side of the saloon.
The saloon offers a great panoramic view: Zeelander’s design team has found a way to do without window mullions. Smoothly curving stairs lead to two exquisite ensuite cabins below deck. The owner’s cabin is located amidships and boasts lots of natural light, streaming in through the hull lights. The second cabin is located forward.
Althought first of all the Zeelander 5 is a beautiful boat, she is no disappointment in terms of speed, maneuverability and seakeeping either. There are options of two or three Volvo Penta IPS 650 drives of 480 hp, which deliver a top speed of up to 40 knots and an opportunity to handle her with a joystick at low speeds and when maneuvering. Besides, the yacht features a really low level of noise: even at full speed one can talk comfortably anywhere on board. At a cruising speed the Zeelander’s range is 450 nautical miles.
