Evo is a 40-metre project of a custom yacht that is to become the largest Van der Valk yacht built to date
It will be an all-aluminium superyacht with sufficient autonomy for long voyages and capable of reaching a speed of up to 24 knots.
The original concept was penned by SFG Yacht Design, which developed her sleek exterior lines, and Fancy by Dada studio, which offered unusual interior ideas that inspired the owners. Later the project was refined and detailed by Cristiano Gatto. The team of experts involved in the development of the yacht also included renowned naval architects from Diana Yacht Design and Ginton Naval Architects.
EVO project has an impressive internal volume for her length, which has increased by a few meters in the course of her design. This is quite a usual sotry for custom yachts, particularly when the owners are actively involved in the process – like it was this time.
“Van der Valk is one of the few yards with the capacity and flexibility to build fully custom superyachts in this size range,” says head of sales Yoeri Bijker. “This 40-metre beauty is based upon an existing engineered platform that is proven in terms of naval architecture. Project EVO is a fine example of how clients can come to Van der Valk with their own exterior designers without having to reinvent the wheel with a new hull, safe in the knowledge that their yacht will excel in terms of performance, speed and stability”.
For now the details of the Project Evo interior style are being kept under wraps, but according to Van der Valk, there will be five cabins on board. The owner’s suite is located on the main deck, while four guest cabins are below deck. There are also three twin crew cabins and one more captain’s cabin right next to the helm on the bridgedeck.
