The competition has the status of the Russian Cup in the J/70 Class and is supported by the Russian Yachting Federation
11 strongest teams of the country have taken part in the regatta. Among the participants there are yachtsmen from Moscow, Vladivostok, Taganrog, Tolyatti, Chelyabinsk, Saint Petersburg, Krasnoyarsk, Anapa and Yekaterinburg.
As the wind was very low on Friday, the race was cancelled. On Saturday there was a changeable wind of 4-5 knots with gusts up to 8 knots. As a result of two races Bars Sailing Team was best.
The final day of the regatta brought excellent racing weather: a stable wind of 5-10 knots, with gusts up to 15 knots. Five more races added to the standings.
Having won back 4 positions on Sunday, RUS7 won the second stage (16 points). The silver went to Skolkovo Sailing Team 5 (22 points), while the team named “Quarantine” closed the top three with just one point behind their closest rivals.
The next stage of the Russian Cup in the J/70 Class will take place on August 23-25 at “Pomestye Gals” yacht club in Moscow region. The Cup includes four stages, with the final fight for the prize fund and the perpetual trophy scheduled to take place in October in Sochi.
