About Admiral shipyard
Admiral is the flagship brand of The Italian Sea Group, one of the largest conglomerates in maritime industry. The history of the brand started back in the 1950s in Lavagna, not far from Genoa, where a shipyard called Cantieri Navali Lavagna built wooden yachts under the brand names of Arcobaleno Super and President, which were fast and large boats for the time. The first 18-meter yacht named Admiral appeared in 1966, and in the middle of 1970s the shipyard launched its first 30-meter boat. In the 1980s Cantieri Navali Lavagna switched to aluminium hulls, and after merging with Cantieri T.Mariotti shipyard in 2005 their joint venture started building steel yachts. On joining The Italian Sea Group in 2011 the shipyard got even more opportunities for development. At present Admiral Yachts production areas are located in Marina di Carrara, between Viareggio and La Spezia.
Highlights
Today Admiral Yachts specialize in making ‘platform’ superyachts of steel and aluminium, built on pre-engineered projects, but allowing for maximum customization for each customer. Thanks to the abundance of such platforms the shipyard has an opportunity to offer its customers a variety of design styles, technical characteristics and hull types, both displacement and semi-displacement ones. The shipyard has a design and engineering centre of its own and collaborates with the best designers and naval architects from all over the world.
Achievements
Admiral yachts have received numerous prestigious international awards. Large production facilities equipped with the latest technology allow Admiral Yachts not only to build new yachts, but also to refit any superyachts, including the largest ones: the shipyard has 18 production sites and a 200-meter drydock.
