About Bluegame shipyard
Bluegame was founded by Luca Santella, a professional sailor who won numerous championships and participated in Olympic Games twice – in Seoul 1988 and in Barcelona 1992. Along with being a professional sailor, he got a degree in architecture and decided to apply his rich experience in yacht design, offering new ideas in terms of shapes and space layout. In 1999 Luca created a project for an owner of a sailing maxi-yacht that the latter competed on. It was a one-of-a-kind 16-meter motorboat, completely different from what was available on the market. When Luja 55 appeared at the Monaco Yacht Show in 2002, it immediately attracted the attention of all those interested in new ideas in the maritime industry. One of them was Carlo C. Bonomi, an entrepreneur and a champion in offshore powerboat racing, who suggested refining the project and starting its mass production. Luis T. Codega, a legendary naval engineer and designer of a lot of successful and seaworthy hulls joined the team. With his help the first 14-meter model Bluegame 47 was born. The Bluegame shipyard was founded in 2004, and in 2018 it became part of Sanlorenzo Group, whose investment and technical capabilities gave a fresh impetus to its development and further expansion of the model range.
Highlights
Bluegame yachts are not easy to assign to a specific type, as they combine the qualities of different vessels. Their creators call them SUBs (Sport Utility Boats). They are multifunctional all-weather boats with solid composite hulls and a lightweight aluminum superstructure. The low center of gravity ensures seaworthiness, excellent performance and stability both underway and at anchor. Depending on the size and the model Bluegame boats are capable of reaching the speed of 30-38 knots. The yard produces two model ranges: BG, which are crossover yachts with vast open decks, and BGX, which is a hybrid of flybridge and crossover yachts with large interior space. The third multihull model range called BGM was presented in 2023.
Achievements
Bluegame models have won the most prestigious international yachting awards for their avant-garde design and performance. Luca Santella has designed a completely new layout concept, where the saloon and the cabins are located on the lower deck and have immediate access to the water.
