About Pershing shipyard

In 1981 Italian entrepreneur Tilli Antonelli together with his friends founded Cantiere Navale dell’Adriatico shipyard in Mondolfo. Later they were joined by designer and naval engineer Fulvio de Simoni. Their plan was to build high-performance yachts, but as opposed to what the market could offer, they wanted to unite luxury and high-performance. This idea became the foundation for the Pershing brand, named after ballistic missiles. By early 90s luxurious high-performance Pershing yachts became popular not only in the Mediterranean, but also in the USA and especially in the Middle East. In 1998 the shipyard became part of Ferretti Group, thus gaining even more opportunities for further development: investments, innovative technologies, new design ideas. Today Pershing is a world-famous brand of luxurious high-performance yachts.

Highlights

The model range includes classical Pershing yachts of X series – sport yachts with a hardtop, or larger ones with a sportbridge. In addition to high performance GTX series is aimed at providing more comfort: it has larger open decks and an opportunity to store an impressive park of water toys on board. Pershing yachts are built of fibreglass with the help of vacuum infusion method and use carbon extensively, as it gives lightness and strength to the construction, which is necessary for reaching high speeds. The exception is the flagship Pershing 140, made of lightweight alluminium alloy. The shipyard provides a high level of customization not only in terms of interior and layout, but also propulsion systems. In different years they experimented a lot with gas turbines, Arneson drives and waterjets, offering their customers different options to achieve ultra-high performance.

Achievements

The legendary Pershing 115 equipped with gas turbine engines is 35 m long and is capable of reaching the speed of 52 knots (about 95 km/h) – an absolutely unique result for the yacht of this size.
