The new GTX series was presented in 2023, when Pershing Yachts unveiled the flagship of the series, the 35-metre Pershing GTX116

The fact that Pershing Yachts has got this series is quite unusual. Firstly, the yard that specializes in performance yachts, has never built flybridge models – only sport ones with a hard top or a compact sportbridge. And while the Pershing GTX 116 has preserved her sporty look, she boasts a sundeck that is no smaller than that of classic flybridge yachts. The new Pershing GTX80, which will be unveiled at the Cannes Festival, follows the same concept.

Sportbridge

With a length of just under 24 metres (or 23.98 m, to be precise, which makes her compliant with simpler maintenance and operation rules), the Pershing GTX 80 has a sportbridge of 23 sq.m and still looks sporty. This is partly due to the arch-shaped superstructure and the optional carbon hard top, which lightens up the superstructure visually thanks to the same colour range.

The shipyard consideres the Pershing GTX80’s upper deck “a sportbridge”. However, function-wise, this is a conventional flybridge. A typical sportbridge is normally home to a helm station and a sunpad, while the GTX80 also houses a dining area and a bar.

Main deck

The main deck aft is two-level. The upper level is an aft cockpit of 14 sq.m, which houses a dining area. The lower one is at the level of the swimming platform and has powered fold-down bulwarks, which increase the width of the “beach” terrace up to 8.80 m, and the total area of the aft recreation area up to 28 sq.m.

The swimming platform – and that is the boat’s “strategic” feature – has three different positions. By default (and that is  what you can see in the photo above) there is a step between the platform and the cockpit. In the lower position it is used for launching a tender. The platform can also be raised to the level of the cockpit and lateral terraces, when they are folded down.

Through an elecrtically operated window the bar in the cockpit is united with a galley, located aft. The access to the saloon is two sliding doors on the right. The galley located on the left of the entrance has another bar, which allows one to create one seamless space for parties when the doors between the cockpit and the saloon are open.

The saloon of 36 sq. m has two layout options. One, more informal, with seating along both sides and a retractable table. The other one, chosen for the first Pershing GTX80, offers a dining area for up to eight opposite the galley.

The interior design is in tune with the dynamic look of the boat. The wooden panels that look like grey silk are intersected by diagonal strips of LED lights, and their interplay creates ambient lighting all over the deck – both in the saloon and exterior areas.

The double helm station is raised. There are three monitors, including a Simrad navigation system. In the Pershing tradition, the huge windshield has no central pillar, and along with expansive glazing it ensures excellent visibility. There can also be a sunroof above the windshield, which is possible for the boats with a sportbridge brought further aft - compared to conventional flybridge yachts.

Lower deck

The lower deck is available in two versions, too. The first one offers four ensuite cabins – and this is the option that will be presented at the Cannes Festival. The second option features a dinette and a day head instead of the fourth cabin.

What is there below deck? There is a full-beam master cabin. The guest cabins are quite comfortable, too, and ensure maxium privacy from the crew area located on the starboard side with an access from the aft cockpit.

The modern interior largely repeats the solutions applied on the main deck: the same interplay of strips of LED lights everywhere, including the bathrooms.
