The yacht represents the pinnacle of innovation and craftsmanship in luxury sailing. Created by Southern Wind Shipyard in collaboration with Farr Yacht Design for the naval architecture and Nauta Design for both the general concept and the exterior and interior styling, the SW96  is both a powerful performer and a luxurious retreat.

The carbon hull makes the yacht both lightweight and strong. The hull's full waterlines combined with a wide, low transom and full forward sections, are optimised for speed and stability in various wind conditions. The deck hardware is strategically positioned to facilitate both short-handed performance cruising and the rigors of offshore racing. With a lightship displacement, the SW96 offers excellent light wind speed, remaining nimble and responsive.

The yacht’s lifting keel, which adjusts from 3.4 to 5.5 m, allows for versatility in shallow waters while maintaining a deep draft for enhanced stability and upwind performance. The twin rudder configuration ensures good handling.

The yacht’s performance is equally impressive upwind and downwind, thanks to her well-balanced design and advanced sail-handling systems. The carbon fiber rig, coupled with a high modulus carbon mast and boom, delivers optimal power and control, allowing the yacht to harness the wind's full potential with ease.

The deck and exterior layout of the SW96 are designed with both functionality and aesthetics in mind. The aft deck, flush and expansive, leads to a transom that folds down to reveal a spacious swimming platform and a tender garage.

Inside, the SW96 offers a luxurious and smartly planned living space. The saloon, located above the engine room and accessible through a full-height control room, serves as the heart of the yacht. The owner’s cabin forward, along with four en-suite guest cabins amidships, ensures privacy and comfort onboard. 

Each SW96 can boast her distinctive features both in terms of finishes and outfitting. Thus, the SW96 named Seatius won the Best Interior Design Sailing Yachts award at the prestigious 2019 Boat International Design and Innovation Awards. While the SW96 Ammonite features a hybrid diesel-electric propulsion system, which does not only reduce emissions but ensures quieter and more efficient operation.
