At present the superyacht is getting ready for sea trials and final fit-out before the delivery to her owner as the Lalabe
The full-custom exterior and interior design of this aluminium tri-deck vessel is owed to Guido de Groot Design studio. The naval architecture and engineering draw on the award-winning 34-metre Lady Lene, but with a fast displacement hull, capable of reaching 17 knots with twin 1450 hp MAN D2862LE489 V12 engines.

The owners took an active part in the project both outside and inside. This naval residence filled with the “rhythms of life and of the sea” boasts a lot of features from waterside residential living. Thus, there is a cosy garden terrace in the spacious aft cockpit, or a beach area, where one can have alfresco dinners, relax on the sofas, in a sauna or a steam room. The transformer swim platform in the beach club with a lounge area provides easy access to the sea.
As the owners often use the galley themselves, it is really well-appointed and features a cooking island. The owner’s suite is located on the main deck next to the office area, two dressing rooms and a huge bathroom. Below deck, there are two VIP-cabins and two twins. There are also three crew cabins and a captain’s cabin on the bridgedeck.
The Lalabe’s central staircase does not only connect all the decks, but acts as a sculptural interior element. The lines between the exterior and interior spaces are blurred: for example, the upper saloon on the bridgedeck features sliding glass doors that can be opened on three sides.

Overall, the Lalabe looks like a classic explorer yacht in its modern interpretation, while the tinted glazing and darker elements lower the profile visually. The yard also hightlights the fact that the bulwarks' height has been increased up to one metre to make the side decks safer for children. In general, the vessel's exterior design looks refined and elegant, and her dynamic lines help to concel the internal volume of 295 GT.
“Lalabe encapsulates everything that Van der Valk stands for – superb engineering, custom design, Dutch quality and bespoke construction combining to create a client’s perfect yacht. To see the project hit the water for the first time is an exciting moment, and we know she will be a very happy home away from home for her owners and their family when they take delivery this summer,” said Yoeri Bijker, Commercial Director at Van der Valk.
The Lalabe’s official debut is expected this autumn at the Cannes Yachting Festival 2025.
