Since its opening in 1998, Hong Kong International Airport has evolved from an aviation centre into a growing hub of multi-modal connectivity, aviation logistics services and commercial developments

Over the next six years, it will also become home to the region's largest marina, offering 600 berths and lots of supporting facilities for high-end tourism and entertainment in the Greater Bay area. It is an entire economic region in China, which includes Hong Kong, as well as Macau and nine other cities in the southern province of Guangdong.

The development plan focuses on using the unique advantages of Hong Kong as Asia’s leading aviation hub and creating synergy among its different projects in order to turn the Airport City into a new tourist attraction of the region.

Construction of the marina is scheduled to take place from 2026 to 2031.
