The project of the marina was developed by Florentine architects from Archea and is expected to become one of the most popular marinas on the Ligurian coast
The investments in the project are estimated at about €15 million, which will be spent on the renovation of the docks, as well as the creation of modern infrastructure for leisure and entertainment. The site is expected to house different restaurants and bars, all kind of shops and office spaces. As for the capacity, the Livorno Marina is planned to be equipped with 815 berths for the vessels of up to 80 meters long.
Despite the plan to complete the project in June 2026, the marina will be commissioned in stages, so it will be able to host the first vessels much earlier, and D-Marin has already opened berth bookings on their web site. The convenient location of the marina will make it a good starting point for exploring Tuscany and the area around Livorno.
Livorno Marina is expected to meet the highest environmental standards. Trees and hedges will be used instead of fences, there will be solar panels to produce energy, and all the green areas will be irrigated with collected rainwater.
“We have been working for 20 years with institutions and the local community to materialise the Porta Mare project. Today we are proud to launch the final version of the plan approved and appreciated by all the stakeholders involved. The Livorno marina will be a state-of-the-art realisation: the historical Medici harbour is incorporated in a modern, beautiful, eco-friendly marina open to the town and to international visitors. To further strengthen the project, we have recently partnered with D-Marin, the largest and most successful marina operator in the Mediterranean. This collaboration will ensure the provision of high-quality management and innovative services to national and international boat owners arriving in Livorno,” said Paolo Vitelli, Founder of the Azimut|Benetti Group.
