Dutch Feadship launched their 118-metre flagship back in August 2022
A little later, in October, Project 1010 was spotted on sea trials, and it took the shipyard over a year to find the superyacht her owners and prepare her for delivery.
The exterior created by Espen Øino International is quite classical, but certainly has some distinctive features. The snow-white supterstructure contrasts with the dark blue hull. The red line across the waterline and a massive bow section underscore the seaworthiness of the boat, whose naval architecture was developed by De Voogt Naval Architects.
Dark glazing creates a feeling that the decks’ overhangs are floating in the air. The flowing, strict lines of the profile get curvy in the central part of the superstructure, which together with the oval side windows connects them with the main stand-out feature of the yacht: a black glass observational capsule, or a sky lounge, located at the very top of the yacht.
The only thing known about the interior for now is that it comes from French Zuretti Interior Design studio, and the internal volume of the vessel is about 5000 GT, which makes it the largest of the Dutch vessels built to date in terms of volume. With a length of 118 m the Launchpad has become a rightful new flagship for Feadship. However, she won’t have this crown for long, as the construction of another 119-metre Project 821 is already under way.
All the exterior recreation areas are focused aft. There are al fresco dining areas and lounges and a pool on the main deck. An interesting feature is the terrace, hanging over the beach club on the main deck aft. The upper deck and, probably, the foredeck are likely to house helipads.
The Launchpad is currently on her maiden cruise from the Netherlands to the Carrebean, presumably, to St Maarten.
