The ClubSwan 28 is now ready to take part in One Design races worldwide
Crafted by Juan Kouyoumdjian, she is meant for a crew of four or five and comes with a carbon mast and no backstay. The idea behind the boat is simplicity without compromising performance.
The model was designed for optimal performance in various conditions, particularly medium and light winds. The ClubSwan 28 is this yacht is an accessible entry point into the racing realm for the yachtsmen, who are just beginning their way in world regattas, and can offer them close, high-performance racing in a user-friendly package.
The layout of the deck prioritises safety and efficiency, while a clean cockpit makes it easier to operate the sails during races. The full kite retrieve system with a sliding hatch on the bow, enhances ease of operation, too.
Thanks to the lifting keel and compact dimensions (length of 8.5 m, beam of 2.5 m), the ClubSwan 28 is easily trailered witout any special permissions and rigged within hours. Her sail plan, comprising a mainsail, a jib, an AP kite, and a reaching kite, ensuring incredible power and versatility on the water. The rig concept is all about simplicity, too: everything is adjusted with one movement through a simple hydraulic system.
According to Federico Michetti, Nautor Swan Head of Sports Activities and Product Manager, "the goal was to create a vessel that prioritises manageability and ease of sailing over pushing the boundaries of absolute performance".
The ClubSwan 28 will make her debut in September, at the 22nd edition of the Rolex Swan Cup. After that the fleet will reconvene at the end of October for an event dedicated to this new model: the ClubSwan Invitational Sardinia Challenge, which will take place at the Marina di Villasimius in Sardinia.
