After the trials are completed, the first Amels 80 will be delivered to her owner, which is scheduled for the summer of 2025
A new and important stage has begun both for the first Amels 80 and for Dutch Damen Yachting shipyard. Construction on the largest superyacht in the Limited Editions series started in March 2022, and she was launched in 2025. Now the vessel that is almost completely ready is going out for sea trials.
The shipyard refers to the Amels 80 as “a true evolution”, “a blend of performance, sophistication and enduring quality” and “a masterpiece of advanced technology, craftsmanship and deep connection to the sea”.

It is not hard to see that the vessel’s stylish and clean contemporary exterior with a powerful bow and the superstructure painted grey comes from Espen Øino, who has already collaborated with the yard on other projects.
The designer claims that the yacht’s lines will look as good in 10 years as they do today. Moreover, she was designed for the owners that were looking for something more than just a beautiful boat. It is interesting to note that although the yard started building the vessel on spec, the owner was found really fast, just half a year after the construction began, so he was capable of making some changes to the original project.
The interiors of the yacht with a steel hull, aluminium superstructure and impressive internal volume of 2175 GT were entrusted to Sinot Yacht Architecture & Design, while her naval architecture was developed by Damen Yachting.
The Amels 80 can accommodate up to 14 guests across seven cabins. There are also quarters for a crew of 21. The owner’s suite boasts two bathrooms, an office, a lounge with a breakfast area and even a library.
The interior design focuses on abundance of light, expensive natural materials like different kinds of wood and marble, and accents of metal.

Among the main features of the superyacht, one should mention the owner’s deck with its private areas, a sundeck of 200 sq.m and a 150-metre beach club with fold-down terraces. The sunlight gets to the beach club through the 6.5-metre pool with transparent inserts in its bottom.
The guests can relax in the spa centre offering a sauna, a hammam and a massage room, as well as in the gym or a bar.
The Amels 80’s hybrid propulsion system will allow her to cover up to 5000 nautical miles without refuelling. It will also enable quieter work and reduced emissions, which will make the cruising experience more conscious.
“The sea trials offer a unique opportunity to experience firsthand the innovation, design, and power that this yacht delivers,” said Romke van der Linde, project manager.
