Inspired by the success of the predecessor, the GS 65 Long Cruise, the shipyard decided to create a sportier version for the discerning customers who prefer high performance without compromising any comfort on board
The GS 65 Performance joined the Grand Soleil Plus line, which includes models over 60 feet. However, the word «Plus» in the name does not only stand for the length, but embodies the owner-centric design concept, implying that the client is involved from the earliest stages of the yacht project.

Corazza headed the team of professionals “representing Italian excellence”: the architecture was designed by Matteo Polli, structural design was entrusted to Marco Lostuzzi, and Nauta Design was in charge of the general layout.

The larger Grand Soleil 72 technical platform served as the basis, but was used in a smaller size maintaining such advantages as the pronounced V-bow and low wetted surface, ensuring dynamic stability when heeling and good performance characteristics.

The mast is stepped well aft in order to increase the size of the foretriangle, and there is a self-tacking jib as standard. The smart distribution of sail area of 280 sq.m and an optimal balance between the hull and appendages (the yacht features a single rudder blade and an inverted T-shaped keel) ensure excellent hydro- and aerodynamic efficiency and allow for confident operation in a wide range of conditions.

With a length of 21.6 m (hull length of 20.1 m) and a beam of 5.9 m, the GS 65 can offer three guest suites, one crew cabin, a spacious saloon with a galley and an aft tender garage.

Owners can choose out of a variety of low impact interior finishing materials offered by the yard in accordance with their taste and needs.
