With the new XO line created together with Francesco Paszkowski Design, Baglietto is planning to step into a new segment of vessels for long cruises and ocean crossings around the world

The 50-metre X50 explorer will be the first model in the line, although according to the shipyard, “it is not, or not only an Explorer, but rather a new way of Experiencing, Observing, perceiving the horizon”.

The X50 exterior design is quite unusual. The hull and the lower part of the superstructure draw a lot on the successful T52 model, but the bow has been revised: it became sturdier and sharper to emphasize the expedition nature of the boat and to ensure her ability to deal with “extreme weather conditions”.

The top part of the superstructure looks like robotics from the future. Particularly the capsule-shaped bow section with an open observation point above, as well as a panoramic lounge and a pilot bridge inside. According to the XO designers, they found inspiration in the famous ETR 300 'Settebello' train, which revolutionized the railway industry back in the 1950s.

Among other features of the yacht is the upper deck in the form of a veranda opening on three sides, a hardtop with solar panels and the aft area with a space for storing two tenders up to 10 meters long. There is also access to a multipurpose space here, which can be used both as a gym or a storage space for various equipment.

For now details about the yacht’s layouts and interiors are still kept under wraps, as well as the number of guests that she can accommodate – the shipyard promises to make all this data public later. So far it is known that the XO line yachts will be powered by twin CAT C32 engines, which can deliver a maximum speed of 16 knots.
