The yacht was commissioned by an experienced owner and was developed by the team of German specialists from Frank Neubelt Yacht Design and German Yacht Couture
The initial stage of the project development took over a year, as this yacht is not just the first sailboat for the yard, but also the first flybridge performance yacht of this size.
Apart from Frank Neubelt Yacht Design and German Yacht Couture mentioned above, the shipyard’s inhouse technical specialists in collaboration with Delta Marine worked on the engineering part of the C140.
The owner wanted his yacht not just to feature exterior lounging spaces and solutions rare for this size, but not to be inferior to more traditional yachts in terms of performance.
The light but robust carbon hull, a retractable pitch propulsion, two high aspect ratio rudders, a retractable bow-sprit and a telescopic lifting keel that changes the draft from 3.8 to 6 metres – all of this is expected to allow the С140 to demonstrate great performance.
One should also mention the stylish exterior design with a harmonious profile (despite the flybridge), an inverted bow and a wide aft with a spacious swim platform.
The master suite is located aft – quite unusual for a sailing yacht – and has access to the swim platform that may also serve as an owner’s private terrace. The yacht offers accommodation for eight guests and a crew of six.
The main saloon features quite expansive glazing and can be united with an exterior lounge sheltered by the flybridge overhang. There are two sets of helms both on the sundeck and on both sides of the main deck.
The yacht will be equipped with a hybrid propulsion system, which will deliver a cruising speed of 12 knots and a translatlantic range. The C140’s garage can accommodate two tenders: a 5-metre guest one and a smaller one for the crew.
The construction of the sailing yacht is already in progress at Conrad Shipyard’s facility in Gdansk, and it is expected to take about two years.
