The WiderCat 76 has inherited all the “versatility, functionality and cruising comfort” from the recently presented WiderCat 92 model, but in more compact “packaging”
To date, the assembly of the catamaran's GRP hull and superstructure has been completed, the hardtop has been installed, the main piping has been laid, along with the installation of HVAC systems. The outfitting of the guest accommodation on the lower deck is at an advanced stage, too.
Just like the 28-metre WiderCat 92 catamaran presented earlier, the WiderCat 76 features the exterior and interior design by Luca Dini Design & Architecture created in collaboration with Wider’s in-house Centro Stile. This time, the creative team opted for the so-called “Hamptons style", which was inspired by the houses on the East Сoast of the US that served as summer residences for wealthy New Yorkers at the end of 19th— early 20th centuries. The key features of this style are light and neutral colours, natural materials like wood, marble, wicker and stone, “beachside” motifs, large windows and a lot of al fresco areas.
In accordance with the chosen style, the WiderCat 76 stands out for expansive glazing and abundance of exterior areas, including a dining area and a lounge shaded by the tents on the sundeck, a lounge area in the main deck cockpit, and a comfortable lounge with two C-shaped sofas on the foredeck.
The new catamaran will provide comfortable accommodation for eight guests and a crew of four. To create a casual elegant atmosphere of a house on the water the designers chose ivory as the main shade for the walls, contrasting dark brown oak for the ceilings, and cosy herringbone parquet for the flooring.
The master suite located on the main deck has access to a private forward terrace, but the owners can also admire the sea views from the bathroom, as there is a window there, too.
For socializing and get-togethers the WiderCat 76 has a spacious living room with an L-shaped sofa and a dining area opposite. In the left hull one level lower there is a generous galley and a dinette, perfect not just for having a snack, but for socializing while cooking together.
Work on the first Wider Cat 76’s engine room is currently in full swing, too. The catamaran will be powered by hybrid propulsion that includes twin FPT motors of 456 kW each and a battery pack with a state-of-the-art Power Management System, which will allow the yacht to reach a maximum speed of 13 knots and ensure up to 9 hours of quiet and comfortable rest at anchor.
“The WiderCat 76 provides the allure of a superyacht with the agility of a smaller craft – a fusion of sharp design, technology and craftsmanship,” said Marcello Maggi, President of W-Fin Sarl, the holding company that owns 100% of Wider equity. “We’re so confident in its appeal that we’re building the first unit on speculation and we fully expect the yacht to hit the water next year."
