At Numarine facility not far from Istanbul the hull has been turned of the first 40MXP unit
“It’s a big milestone for our new model’s construction and I’m happy to confirm we’re on track with the delivery in 2025 as it was planned initially,” said Murat Şen, General Manager of Numarine. “The market has exhibited a positive response to this model, with a notable influx of interested boat owners. Three 40MXP hulls have already been sold before the first one is launched, which is a great success.”
The ‘MXP’ stands for Mediterranean Explorer, but the reference is not suggestive of any cruising limitations of the design – rather, it reflects the beach-club lifestyle typical of Mediterranean yachts. As an evolution of the current flagship, 37XP, the new 40MXP which will be two metres longer, is based on the idea of a healthy lifestyle and delivers it in a few exciting ways. First, the aft deck has been enlarged both as a result of the extra length and by moving the aft sliding doors three metres forward to the saloon.
As a result there is a spacious al fresco dining area, a bar, and a lounge area surrounding another new feature – an aft pool complete with a glass transom. There is also a huge full-beam 8-metre hydraulic swim platform. All of this area can be shaded with an awning or an upper deck extension, which is a better idea for such hot regions as the Middle East or Australia, where Numarine yachts enjoy great popularity.
Thanks to the optimised hull shape developed by Numarine long-standing naval architecture partner Umberto Tagliavini the model features an impressive range of 6000 nautical miles (11000 km) at 8 knots. The standard version is powered by twin MAN 800 hp, although there is an option to install 900 hp ones, too. The first two Numarine 40MXP hulls will be powered by the latter.
The interiors of the yacht are spacious and luxurious, and offer six suites for up to 12 guests, including a master cabin on the main deck and an impressive full-beam VIP suite below deck. The interior design as well as the exterior lines are owed to Can Yalman. This superyacht is a true global explorer, boasting not only a huge range, but capable of carrying a 9-metre tende, three full-size jet skis and lots of other water toys.
