The new Swan OverShadow is expected to help the shipyard meet the demands for outboard-powered boats coming from various segments of the market, and it mainly refers to American customers
The OverShadow model with an inboard engine was unveiled at autumn boat shows last year. As opposed to her junior sister, the Swan Shadow, she is positioned not only as a superyacht tender, but as a standalone boat, too, which can be used as a weekender, a dayboat or a supply vessel.
The cabin forward provides accommodation for two guests, and if one wants to stay longer, the cockpit is equipped with everything that might be necessary for a comfortable time on board: a bar, a dining area, sofas and a spacious sunpad aft. Owners can choose out of a few layout options and change the configuration of the bed in the cabin or of the bar area.
The characteristic Scandinavian design of the Swan OverShadow was developed by Jarkko Jämsen, who is in charge of the yard’s motor yacht direction. Strict lines, a seaworthy bow, an unusual, angular shape of the glazing and a large hardtop with an opening central part – the new model has preserved all of these features. Just like the minimalistic interior design with a lot of wooden surfaces, light ceilings and the furniture upholstery borrowed from the Nautor Swan sailing yachts.
One of the key standout features of the new Swan OverShadow is the revised aft section: now the main part is occupied by three Mercury V10 outboard engines. No official data has been revealed yet, but it is very likely that the yard had to let the movable hydralic platform go for their sake. The technical characteristics of the new model have not been made public yet either: the shipyard keeps them under wraps until the official premier of the Swan OverShadow outboard, which is due to take place at the Cannes Yachting Festival 2024.
