The steel hull and aluminium superstructure have already been assembled, and the yacht has been transported from the yard’s construction facilities in Zwijndrecht to Alblasserdam (Netherlands) for outfitting
The Y729’s exterior design is owed to Espen Øino International, the interior was entrusted Zuretti Design, while Arrow Monaco was in charge of technical representation.
The Y729 is the first yacht in the promising Simply Custom family. The platform developed by Lateral Naval Architects and Oceanco’s inhouse engineers, was first unveiled at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show in 2023. It allows the shipyard to offer its clients a considerably simplerconstruction process for superyachts over 80 metres with internal volume of 2,500-2,700 GT. Thus, the yard can maintain the highest level of quality, while the owners, who have an opportunity to choose the designers they want to be involved, can realize their designer dreams based on the proven technical solutions.
Another important benefit, which is saving time, is mentioned by the shipyard’s Project Director, Erwin de Looff: “With Y729, we were able to utilize the readily available Simply Custom technical backbone to kickstart the project. This, combined with the owners’ deep understanding of what it takes to keep a complex project moving, and to truly inspire and motivate a team, has seen the project progress at a very fast pace.”
For the owners, who wanted to create something entirely their own after many years of chartering, the Y729 is their first yacht. The details about her are kept under wraps, but the main parameters are already available.
With a length of 80 m and a beam of 13.8 m, the vessel’s internal volume is 2,600 GT. The yacht will offer comfortable accommodation for up to 14 guests and a crew of 28.
The diesel-electric propulsion will deliver a top speed of 16 knots and a cruising speed of 15 knots.
The yacht’s delivery is scheduled for 2027.
