The Otam 80HT hull and deck construction and lamination are complete

Now that the hull and deck construction and lamination are complete, the vessel has entered the outfitting stage

In accordance with the owner’s choice, the exterior detailing and interior styling were entrustsed to the Venice-based studio, Nuvolari Lenard, which is their first time collaboration with Otam.

“Selected specifically by the owner because of their superyacht experience and reputation, the Venice-based design studio brings an unparalleled sense of uniqueness to this project. This seventh 80HT is undoubtedly the most sophisticated, elegant and technically advanced we have ever produced,” says Matteo Belardinelli, OTAM sales & communication manager.

The Kevlar hull and deck, as well as a carbon fibre hardtop and deck components required an exclusive lamination package and additional uni-directional fibers in high-load areas.  Now among the standout features of the yacht one can mention a one-piece windshield without a slightest obstruction, a fully customised dashboard and instrumentation package with multiple back-up systems, a sliding sunroof integrated in the hardtop, a garage for two jet skis, extra-tall structural windows without any pillars in the main deck saloon and double windows in the full-beam master suite.

The complexity of the shipyard's engineering work was about making all the systems of the yacht simple and smart, so that the owner had to access the engine room as little as possible.

Based on the preliminary data, the super-lightweight construction and hull lines by Umberto Tagliavini and Aldo Scorzoni (Marine Design & Services), and twin MTU 2600 hp engines coupled with Arneson drives can deliver a top speed of 47 knots.

“This owner came to us because he wanted to build something truly different. He knew that with OTAM, he would find the flexibility and necessary expertise from a brand that chooses to work outside the classic comfort zone. I’m confident we can not only meet but also exceed his expectations by working diligently together,” shares Matteo Belardinelli.
