Competitors from different cities of Russia took part in the competition organised by PROyachting
On the first day of the regatta there was a strong wind of 10-15 knots. The main contenders for the victory in the season, Self and Sovfracht Sailing Team, took the lead almost at once. Although by the time of the final these teams had an equal number of points, the first day increased Self team’s chances for winning considerably. As a result of five Saturday races, it was seven points ahead of the rivals.
Lazy Jibe crew finished the day in the third place, just 1 point behind Sovfracht Sailing Team, while North Arrows team came close to the top three.
On Sunday the Gulf of Finland pleased the competitors with excellent weather again, allowing to hold five more races.
Self team managed to increase its advantage, eventually overtaking its closest rivals by 12 points and winning both the final and the season.
Lazy Jibe team won silver in the final. The victories in the two final stages allowed it to overtake the closest rivals, Sovfracht Sailing Team, by 1 point and finish the series in the third place.
The third place in the final did not allow Sovfracht Sailing Team to claim gold in the season, so eventually the team got silver medals.
