Thanks to the opening of the new hall, the area of the yard’s construction facility will exceed 9000 sq.m

The new building will join the six construction halls built earlier and cover the area of about 2540 sq.m. It features giant 12 x 12-metre hangar doors and state-of-the-art equipment necessary for superyacht projects. According to the shipyard, thanks to the new hall Van der Valk will be capable of working on two and more superyachts up to 47 metres in length simultaneously.

Just like other halls, the new building will have immediate access to the water and a 120-metre dock.

The new building will enable the yard not only to work with aluminium hulls, but do all the piping, plumbing, mechanical engineering and outfitting work. A lot of these processes will be carried out at the same time, which will allow the yard to reduce the delivery time considerably.

“As new orders for fully custom yachts up to 47 metres in length have continued to increase, we knew the time had come to expand even further. Hall 7 has been designed and built with the future very much in mind. Our 100-strong workforce covers a hugely diverse range of disciplines, including engineering for the integration from naval architects and designers to the production phase”, said Van der Valk technical director, Bram Kooltjes.
