According to the model’s creators, the vessel will combine innovative design, state-of-the-art technologies and unique opportunities for inland waters navigation
The fact that the Baikal 50 is a multihull ensures higher stability, while her small draft allows for navigation in shallow rivers. Furthermore, the bridge clearance under 13 meters makes the Baikal 50 suitable for cruising Russia’s main waterway, the Volga, as well as various routes ranging from the Baltic to the Black Sea.
The total area of the superhouseboat is 2110 sq.m, 1240 sq.m of which are living spaces, which is comparable to 75-80-metre superyachts, but at a price that is two or three times lower.
With a length of 52 m and a beam of 16 m the vessel powered by a hybrid propulsion system can cruise the open sea, too. Among other key features of the superhouseboat is the ability to have a helipad on the upper deck. Starting from the Baikal 20 SHB models, the vessels can be adjusted to accommodate helicopters like Robinson 44, while larger models like the Baikal 50 are suitable for heavier craft, too.
The Baikal 50 provides comfortable accommodation for up to 18 guests and a crew of 12.
With this model, Baikal Yachts Group intends to fill in the gap that appeared due to current market restrictions and the lack of supply for the wealthy audience.
“Quite often High-Net-Worth Individuals, let alone Ultra-High-Net-Worth Individuals in Russia do not get the attention from the yacht industry that they deserve. All the large charter vessels that are worthwhile are outside the country. It is possible to find smaller powerboats and mid-size yachts in Russia that can meet the elite audience’s demands. But no superyachts, no megayachts. The Baikal 50 was designed to change this situation and to highlight the opportunities of vacationing inside the country for the wealthy audience, thus boosting the development of the yachting infrastructure”, said Sergey Gmyra, creator and owner of Baikal Yachts Group.
The superhouseboats Baikal 50 will be built both for private individuals and for the charter market. First negotiations with clients have already proved there is strong interest in the project: one of the charter models has already been adapted to meet the client’s individual demands and will feature unique design.
“Our plan is to attract investment to begin construction of three charter superhouseboats. The estimated annual charter revenue for one vessel like this is €8.9+ million with a payback period of 5-7 years. It is a promising business in a virtually free market, where demand exceeds supply significantly. We are ready to take on individual projects, too”, added Sergey Gmyra.
