Project SailXplorer initiated by the Mallorca-based company of the same name includes three sailing superyacht models: XV53, XV73 and XY89
The young brand of SailXplorer founded in 2025 designs each of its vessels as a versatile platform, allowing one to adjust it to a wide range of goals without compromising on comfort. Barselona-based Atelier Cala designed the interiors, where architecture, light and sensory design support the onboard experience for guests in extreme environments.
The interior of the 53-metre two-masted was the first to be unveiled. It was created as an adjustable system, designed to assist psychological balance and physiological stability for guests.
Thus, the main saloon is a space of calm. The colour range of warm honey-brown shades and ergonomic furniture reduce the visual noise. The ceiling is decorated with a subtle bathymetric pattern imitating those seen on the seafloor, which, along with the panoramic windows, is meant to create a connection to the ocean.
The control interfaces designed by BVH are concealed in the finishing material palette, allowing one to adjust the climate and media intuitively. The “invisible” Alchimia display emerges only when necessary. "The result is an environment where technology remains present, yet never dominant," explains Arnau Salvadó, founder of Atelier Cala.
At the same time, the interior is truly multifunctional: the dining area meant for 22 guests and a crew of 15 can be transformed into a briefing room or an informal lounge, still remaning the main convivial area on board.
One can find the same style on the aft deck, which is positioned as “a transitional environment between activity and rest”. There is an enclosed cockpit with seating and an integrated bar here, offering a 180-degree view.
“The question was never how far this yacht could go, but how well people could live while going that far,” said Arnau Salvadó. “Endurance without human balance leads to fatigue, and fatigue affects decision-making. In an explorer yacht, that matters. The interior is designed to support the body and mind, creating an environment that enhances focus, recovery and overall wellbeing”.
