Nauta Design’s idea was not just to create another superyacht, but to rethink the “architecture of life at sea”, to create “a manifesto for modern yachting”. With this goal in mind, they looked for elegant, efficient and visually appealing solutions that will challenge traditional superyacht design.

Project Velor offers incredibly generous exteroor areas. Even the most enclosed lower deck features a “water patio”, which is an open-air beach area around the pool with a dining area and bar located next to it. The upper levels are home to more lounging areas, ensuring constant connection with the sea thanks to sliding glass panels.

The versatile sundeck accommodates a dining area, a bar, lounges and a pool surrounded by sunbeds. There is another pool on the foredeck, offering a cosy nest for relaxation and enjoying the sea views.

To develop the innovative single-tier engine room Nauta Design teamed up with Francesco Rogantin of Studio Names. This solution allowed for more space and freedom of movement on board. Thus, there is a wellness area and a spa in the aft section, which have access both to the “water patio” and guest cabins.

“One of the defining qualities of Project Velor is its flexibility,” says Guido Valtorta, Director at Nauta Design. “Every element of the design is intended to suit the many ways owners use their yachts—whether for family time, entertaining, or quiet escape.”
