The world’s largest catamaran was conceived to embody the comfort of a luxurious superyacht and the autonomy of a true explorer vessel
According to the yard’s press release, the new project is “the world’s largest luxury catamaran”. The precise dimensions of the vessel are not revealed, but the length of the Sunreef Yachts’s new cat is 18.5 metres ahead of another multihull of the same class, the 46.5-metre ArtExplorer built by Italian Sea Group in 2024.

Two still hulls and aluminium superstructure (in addition to the upper deck there is also a flybridge) will ensure the 65m Explorer is stable and efficient on long cruises. So far, the yard has revealed only some of the performance characteristics of the new vessel: a top speed of 18 knots and a cruising speed of 14.

The 65m Explorer can boast an internal volume of 1800 GT, allowing for rather generous leveable spaces.

The master suite on the upper deck forward is obviously one of the project’s highlights. Apart form the king size bed, it offers a private lounge, an office, a dressing room and two bathrooms for him and for her. Tinted floor-to-ceiling windows provide excellent views, while there is also a private owner’s terrace at the bow.

Two VIP cabins are located next to the owner’s suite, and there are four more guest cabins on the main deck. There are also quarters for a crew of 22.
The vessel has a gym and a garage for a 13.7-metre tender and numerous water toys aft.

According to Sunreef Yachts, the true benefit of the new project’s multihull shape is the beach club. There are steps leading from the six-metre pool on the main deck to the swim platform, which can be lowered to the water level. There is enough space for a seven-metre tender and several jet skis, and when they are not there this space can be converted into a beach area with deck furniture and a parasol right by the water. The area of the platform can be additionally enlarged with the help of fold-down bulwarks.

The retractable A-frame crane makes the launch and retrieval of all kinds of “small fleet” a lot easier.
In addition to the aft lounge area, there are other outdoor lounges, several dining areas and a cinema. The upper deck is home to the second pool, and there is a crescent sunbathing area and bar on the flybridge.

Underscoring the uniqueness of the project, the designers say that the Sunreef 65m Explorer has “the soul of an explorer and the heart of a true superyacht”.
“I can’t imagine a more comfortable platform for a genuinely ambitious cruising programme,” said Sunreef founder and CEO, Francis Lapp.
