In 2024 the Dubai International Boat Show 2024 (DIBS) has taken place for the 30th time
When the show just started in 1992, it was rather a modest event aimed at quite a small yachting industry in the Middle East. Now it is a full-fledged international event, displaying world’s leading shipyards, supercar manufacturers, equipment and lots of luxury brands.
Visitors of the Dubai International Boat Show 2024 can see over 200 yachts and powerboats berthed in Dubai Harbour. The traditional key driver of the show is Gulf Craft from the UAE, which is the largest yacht manufacturer in the Middle East and one of the major players of the yachting industry. The company will display a lot of their brands: Majesty yachts, Nomad explorers, Oryx cruisers, Silvercraft powerboats and SilverCAT catamarans. In addition to the models that they have already unveiled, Gulf Craft promises an exciting new reveal of a new Majesty model.
The Dubai International Boat Show 2024 welcomes exhibitors from 55 countries. This year's debut countries are Austria, Finalnd, Sweden and Korea. The show features the yachts from Sunseeker, Princess, Sunreef. Italian Azimut Yachts showcases a large number of models and is to hold their Middle East premier of a new sporty Azimut S7. Some regional launches are also expected from Ferretti, SF Yachts, Williams Tender and a number of other manufacturers. Riviera Boats and Al Fajer Marine from the UAE promise two world premiers each. All in all, 46 launches are planned for the show.
Hypercar Avenue will host rare and unique cars like Bugatti Chiron, McLaren Speedtail and Pagani Huayra. There is a special area for watersports fans, where professional athletes demonstrate the latest developments in the field ranging from flyboards to diving gear. There will be underwater games and competitions both for professionals and amateurs, and Dubai International Marine Club will run their fishing competition finale.
At present about 12.6% of the world’s superyacht fleet is concentrated in the Middle East. It is estimated that the market of luxury yachts will grow from $306 mln in 2022 to $481 mln by 2028. Taking into account the fact that the number of wealthy people in Dubai is expected to grow by 40% by 2026, DIBS is very likely to play an essential role in the increase in sales in the international yachting industry.
