All the three yachts were designed by the shipyard in collaboration with Nick Top and Guido de Groot, and each new boat inherits the name of Jangada from her predecessor
The first 25-metre vessel was built in 2015 and became one of the first Van der Valk models with a raised pilothouse. The second boat was 32 m long, hit the water in 2019 and was nominated for World Superyacht Award 2020. The third iteration has a length of 35.9 m, a beam of 8.50 m and a draft of 2.45 m.
According to the yard, the owner decided to increase the length of the vessel, as their family kept growing. It also had to make some "structural changes" to suit the owner's home berth in the Bay of St Tropez, i.e. to enhance sound and vibration insulation. The designers (naval architecture by Diana Yacht Design and Ginton Naval Architects) opted for a steel hull and aluminium superstructure with insulation throughout and adapted the gangway on the portside to the height of the home pier pontoon.
Moreover, now the yacht features a 4.5-metre long jet-stream pool with a capacity of 7,200 L, as well as a dedicated warm-water tank below the tender garage.
The yacht’s interior design, as well as the exterior, is owed to Nick Top Design and Guido de Groot Design. As the yacht is meant for family cruises, there is a full-beam master suite on the main deck forward, and there are two VIP suites and two twin cabins below deck for the owner’s children and grandchildren.
The finishes feature a lot of whitewashed wood, which, combined with the ceilings of 2.6 m and large expanses of glazing, make the living spaces look even more spacious and offer amazing views
With twin MAN D2862LE427 engines of 900 hp each, the vessel can reach a top speed of over 14 knots and a cruising speed of 13 knots.
