The second 50Steel unit by Sanlorenzo continues following the innovative path set by the first vessel in the series, the Almax, which became a real turning point for the industry in 2024

The yacht with exterior by Zuccon International Project features a hull of steel and a superstructure of aluminum. Her overall length is 50 m, the beam is 9.4 m, the draft at full load is 2.96 m, and the internal volume is under 500 GT. One should note here that the pre-engineered platform of the series reduces the delivery time dramatically: the Almax was built in just two years, and the second unit will be delivered to the owner within months, after the sea trials are complete.

The key innovation of the new vessel is the Reformer Fuel Cell system, designed in collaboration with German Siemens Energy. The system turns green methanol into hydrogen and then electricity to power all the hotel loads at anchor. Another element shared by both vessels in the 50Steel series is Sanlorenzo’s patented Hidden Engine Room (HER) system: instead of a traditional two-level configuration, there is a horizontal arrangement of the propulsion system and a new distribution of technical areas in the under lower deck, which frees up valuable space for an extra lounge on the lower deck.

“The 50Steel line perfectly expresses Sanlorenzo’s approach to innovation,” said Tommaso Vincenzi, CEO of Sanlorenzo. “From the first unit, it introduces pioneering solutions that anticipate where our industry is heading. The market response confirms that owners recognise this direction, not as an experiment, but as a credible and desirable evolution of the superyacht. With the launch of its second 50Steel, Sanlorenzo continues to advance a clear vision for the future of the segment - one where design, technology and responsibility converge to create iconic yachts that do not follow trends, but set new benchmarks for what comes next”.
