According to Bering Yachts, this innovative expedition vessel that boasts enhanced comfort on board and a contemporary exterior “does not fit neatly into existing explorer or motor yacht classifications”
The Bering 130, which was created in collaboration with Swiss Valentin Design, does not only focus on seaworthiness and self-sufficiency, but also on spatial quality, beauty and coziness.
The yard’s fundamentally new approach to building superyachts called Vector Yacht is meant to blur the lines between brutal explorer yachts and conventional luxurious yachts. The former boast robust hulls and a huge range, but often have an overly utilitarian exterior. The latter impress with their refined appearance and five-star comfort, yet can be limited in terms of autonomy and seaworthiness.
The Vector rejects this compromise. The name of the concept symbolizes direction and purpose: the Bering 130 boasts full expedition capabilities yet looks like a modern superyacht.
The AH-36 marine-grade steel hull and aluminum superstructure will provide the Bering 130 with stability, reliability and significant load-carrying capacity (for instance, to accommodate a large fleet of tenders). While details regarding the propulsion system have not been revealed yet, preliminary specifications indicate a top speed of 14 knots, a cruising speed of 10 knots and a range over 4,500 nautical miles. The boat’s self-sufficiency is ensured by fuel tanks with a capacity of 56,550 L and a fresh water supply of 9,100 L.
With a length of 39.76 m, a beam of 8 m and a draft of 2.55 m, the yacht’s internal volume 399 GT, and her four-deck architecture gives a feeling of a much larger vessel than she really is. The designers ensured that the onboard environment offers opportunities both for privacy and entertainment, while movement between decks is seamless and unobstructed.
The project’s layout features inherent flexibility. Thus, owners can choose the number and size of guest cabins: as standard, there are three cabins on the lower deck and a VIP suite on the main deck. An optional dedicated owner’s deck (upper deck) is available, featuring a master suite with a bedroom, a spacious walk-in dressing room and bathroom, a dining area and exterior lounges both forward and aft.
The flybridge is home to a helm station, a lounge and a bar, while there is a beach club with fold-down terraces and a swim platform on the main deck aft
“I believe the Bering 130 ranks among the strongest 40-metre motor yachts available today. The lifestyle it offers, the features it delivers and the carefully considered layout that creates exceptional comfort for owners, guests and crew set it apart in this size range. Multiple configuration options make it adaptable to specific needs without sacrificing design excellence,” said Alexei Mikhailov, founder and CEO of Bering Yachts.
Project Bering 130 will be unveiled at the coming Monaco Yacht Show scheduled for 23-36 September 2026, and is already available for order.
