French boatbuilders have begun the outfitting stage of the future superyacht, while her launch is scheduled to take place later this year
The aluminium superstructure and hull of the expedition vessel with a length of 50.5 m and a beam of 9.1 m have already been joined, and now work is underway on communications and equipment installation.
The exterior unusual for an explorer is owed to Humphreys Yacht Design studio. Low bow, panoramic superstructure glazing, spacious aft deck for storing tenders and water toys – many of these solutions are the result of the owner’s active participation in the development of the vessel.

There is a davit for launching the huge 9.25-metre tender, as well as two cranes for the rescue boat, jet skis and other toys.
In answer to the owner’s request, the service and guest areas have been separated: there is a centreline corridor on the tank deck, allowing the crew to access the engine room without entering the guest areas.
The explorer’s interior has been entrusted to Italian m2atelier studio, but the details are currently kept under wraps. The only thing known is that there will be a traditional saloon with a lounge and a dining area on the main deck, as well as an al fresco lounge with a bar, barbecue and sunbeds.

The upper deck will be home to the owner’s suite with a private lounge and office, while the exterior lounge will feature a jacuzzi. Four more guest cabins will be located below deck.
As for the technical features, the superyacht will be fitted with solar panels and high-capacity batteries for storing the generated energy. Thanks to this, the vessel will be capable of silent and emission-free operation for extended periods of time – not only while at anchor, but also in harbour and when cruising at low speeds.
With the help of the hybrid propulsion system, the explorer will have a provisional top speed of 20 knots and cover over 5000 nautical miles at a speed of 12 knots without refuelling.
“This ambitious and technically complex project embodies our expertise in aluminium construction combined with composite materials. We are proud to collaborate with Humphreys Yacht Design to bring such an exceptional vessel to life,” said Frédéric Jaouen, CEO of JFA Yachts.
