The Swan 88 was unveiled back in 2021. The goal of the shipyard was to build a yacht that would be inexpensive and easy to handle and maintain, as well as to get charter certifications.
The Swan 88 is dubbed ‘an entry size to the world of Maxi’ and ‘no-compromise cruiser with a racer soul’. The sailing yacht designed by the shipyard’s long-time partner, German Frers, features elegant sporty lines, while special attention is paid to the guests’ comfort. Interior style was entrusted to Misa Poggi. The shipyard offers a few layout and style options, which on the whole can be described as ‘timeless classics’.
It is known that the Swan’s maximum heeling angle will be 20 degrees, and the draft will be no more than four metres with a standard keel. On request the yacht can also be equipped with a performance, telescopic and shallow-draught keel, and the minimal draft will then be decreased to three meters.
Four cabins can accommodate up to eight guests. There are two more cabins with bunker beds forward, which are meant for the crew, but, if necessary, they can partially be used by the guests. A layout with three guest cabins is available, too. Traditional for sailing yachts, the master stateroom is located at the bow.
The cockpit features a new coachroof design with an integrated sprayhood, a Bimini and modular benches, which can be arranged as a lounge or a dining room. The helms and the winches are located towards the centre to free more space aft for the beach club and the tender garage.
The yacht is most likely to be equipped with a 230 hp Cummins BTA4.5-ME, and the expected fuel capacity is 2800 litres.
The shipyard promises that the first Swan 88-001 Hybrid will be launched this year, accompanied by two more Swans - the Swan 78 and the Swan 128, which have already entered their final construction stages, too.
