
The competition has a status of the J/70 Russian Cup and is supported by Russian Yaghting Federation
12 strongest crews of the country took part in the competition. Among the participants there were sailors from Moscow, Saint Petersburg, Vladivostok, Chelyabinsk, Izhevsk, Krasnodar, Taganrog, Tuapse and Sredneuralsk.

Due to the weather conditions, there were no races on Friday. On the second racing day, the Gulf of Finland greeted the participants with challenging racing weather: the wind often changed direction, while the speed varied from 4 to 10 knots. The yachtsmen had to adjust to unpredictable conditions fast, but all teams coped with all the difficulties successfully.

As a result of six races, the winner of the first stage, Bars Sailing Team, topped the rating with 10 points. Alladin team was 4 points behind it. There was a fierce competition for the bronze between W Sailing Team and Baby's on Fire that ended the day with an equal number of points, but the victory in one of the races tipped the scale in favour of W Sailing Team.
Sunday brought excellent weather with a wind of 7-12 knots and gusts up to 20 knots. Four more races took place on the final racing day.

The Saturday leader, Bars Sailing Team, managed to keep the advantage and increased the gap by eight points, thus taking a confident gold.

The silver went to Alladin team (25 points), while Calipso team that gained 6 positions on the final racing day ended up with 36 points and joined the top three.
