PROyachting company opens the racing season at Smolenka yacht port on Vasilievsky Island
The races will be held for modern J/70 sailing yachts. Season 2024 is the first for Saint Petersburg to house the fleet of this class.
The first races start on May 15, and the legendary Wednesday Night Race series are due to take place every Wednesday. The history of these races in Moscow has been going on for 10 years now, and they took place in Saint Petersburg for the first time in the summer of 2023.
On Fridays the company is planning to arrange Bar Races. This format implies that in addition to competing in the waters of the Gulf of Finland there will be some informal communication at the yacht club’s bar after the race is over.
Sunset Races are due to take place at Smolenka on Sundays. They are amateur races opposite the cable-stayed bridges and the Lakhta Centre, which will be held at the most beautiful time of the day, at sunset.
All the series are aimed at a wide audience and suitable both for experienced professionals and beginners. You can take part as a team, or find some like-minded people on the spot and join in.
