This year, for the first time in the history of the competition, three key stages of the series will be held in St. Petersburg, while previously the Cup was traditionally held in Moscow and the Moscow region
The competition is organized by PROyachting company with the support of the All-Russian Sailing Federation. Its status as an official competition, included in the Russian Ministry of Sport's calendar, allows its participants to compete for official sporting ranks and titles.
13 teams from various Russian cities, including the leading Russian crews and award-winning yachtsmen will take part in the first stage.
The regatta will be based at Smolenka yacht port, with its well-developed infrastructure and easy access to the Gulf of Finland, ensuring top level conditions for a national-scale competition.
All in all, there Russian Cup has four stages, and the strongest crews based on the results of the first three stages held St. Petersburg will meet in autumn for the final on the Black Sea to compete for the Challenge Cup.
