The races are held for modern sport J/70 yachts, and the series is organized by PROyachting company
Three teams are vying for the victory in the series. As a result of four stages, the leader is Andrey Dorokhin’s SELF team. They won three out of four stages and have got six points. Just four points behind them is Ivan Okorokov’s Sovfracht Sailing Team. The winner of last season's series, Sergey Zhuravlev's Black Mamba crew, rounds out the top three with 18 points.
The Winter Fun Race series is meant for beginner helmsmen and gives them an opportunity to test their skills in a competition with equal rivals. A professional skipper can also take part in the race, but then the team gets penalty points. The results of the final stage give teams double points in the overall ranking, which definitely ups the ante.
