Nautor Swan to merge with Sanlorenzo Group

Italian Sanlorenzo Group has signed an agreement to buy Finnish Nautor Swan and all its subsidiaries

Since 1 August 2024 Sanlorenzo will become the owner of 60% of Nautor Swan Group shares, while the acquisition of all 100% of shares is scheduled for April 2028

The four-year period will allow for a gradual integration of the two brands a gradual integration of the two brands, finally creating the largest player in the high-end nautical segment with a focusing on product excellence, production processes and the sales network. 

Founded in 1966, Nautor Swan shipyard is one of the leaders of iconic sailing yachts prodicton, both racing and cruising. Apart from building the yachts, the subsidiary companies that are part of Nautor Swan Group, are responsible for a comprehensive range of services. All in all, there are 13 companies across seven countries, including Nautor Swan Charter and Brokerage; Nautor Swan Global Service operating all over the world; a “virtual yacht club” named ClubSwan Racing, which is a sport division in charge of races for Swan owners.

Sanlorenzo Group is one of the largest players in the market of motor yachts and superyachts not only in Italy, but worldwide. Sanlorenzo is developing rapidly, building up its sales and working with the most innovative technologies.

Massimo Perotti, President and CEO Sanlorenzo Group added “Signing this agreement represents another milestone for our strategy. During the past months, together with Leonardo Ferragamo and Nautor Swan Management, a solid industrial plan, in terms of product development and synergies related to production, technologies, commercial and economies of scale. We are talking about a niche brand, ultra-exclusive, whose philosophy is aligned with the one we have in Sanlorenzo”.

The main production site for sailing yachts will remain in Pietarsaari, in Finnish Ostrobothnia region. Leonardo Ferragamo will retain the office of Nautor Swan President, while Massimo Perotti will be the CEO of the entire group.
